Warwick founded Tuffnell Drainage in 2002 after trade training and experience across both residential drainage and large civil/subdivision work. With family roots in plumbing and drainlaying, he built Tuffnell to earn a long-term reputation for quality delivery—now supported by a well-resourced team and fleet delivering commercial and civil projects across Canterbury.
Outside work: Warwick lives near Southbridge with his family and spends spare time running and biking in the hills.
Carmen Tuffnell | Director | Finance & Administration
Responsible for: Financial oversight, accounting, decision support.
What this gives clients: A stable, well-managed operator with sound commercial discipline.
Carmen has been part of the business since day one—initially running the administration from home as the company grew. Today she oversees the financial and accounting side of the operation and supports leadership decisions, backed by an established office team.
Outside work: Carmen runs family life and their lifestyle block, including a Welsh Pony stud.
Darryl Collins | Operations Manager
Responsible for: Programme delivery, resourcing, operational planning and execution.
What this gives clients: A solutions-focused operations lead who protects programme, quality and budget.
Darryl joined Tuffnell in 2021 and brings deep experience across stormwater/wastewater infrastructure and water reticulation. His background spans residential, commercial and complex civil delivery—covering gravity mains, rising mains and pump station installations. Darryl is known for clear communication and building strong on-site working environments so teams can perform reliably under pressure.
Jun Hong | Quantity Surveyor
Responsible for: Tendering, cost monitoring, financial coordination with delivery teams.
What this gives clients: Tighter commercial control and clearer cost management.
Jun joined Tuffnell in 2018 after completing a NZ Diploma in Quantity Surveying. With an accounting background and a strong eye for detail, Jun supports tendering, cost tracking and financial coordination across projects—helping ensure commercial performance matches delivery reality.
Kirsty Elia | Health & Safety Representative | Traffic Operations
Responsible for: H&S systems support, continuous improvement, traffic operations coordination.
What this gives clients: Safer sites and professional controls around live environments.
Kirsty has been with Tuffnell since 2016 and has seen the company evolve into an established industry operator. Since returning in 2022, she has continued developing her Health & Safety capability to help maintain a safe working environment for staff and the public—supporting consistent systems and expectations on site.
